How to Learn French
I recently decided to that it was time for me to figure out how to learn French. I remember all of the cartoons like Alvin & the Chipmunks always said that French was the universal language. I never understood what they meant but it stuck with me. While there isn't truly an universal language, I do plan to do some traveling in Europe so I'd like to have another language under my belt before I go.
I did a search and there are all kinds of programs out there devoted to teaching a second language. I tend to shy away from classes because I just have too much going on to be able to make it on a regular schedule. Wit that in mind, I decided to that a home course would be best suited fro me.
Next was price. Training in how to learn French is a priority but I still have to stick to a budget. Some of the programs I ran across were over $700! And that one was a computer program so you can't take it back if it doesn't work for you. I knew that you get what you pay for but I was sure that there were other programs that were just as good that would put less of a dent in my pocket.
I finally settled on this how to learn French program. It is called Rocket French and promises that if you don't see results in 8-weeks, you can get your money back. This guarantee comes straight from the manufacturer so I felt pretty confident in it. It comes with a full audio course and vocabulary building software. The fact that it was software but that they would take it back if I didn't like it was a big plus for me.
There are two versions a hardcopy and a downloadable version. They are the same program but one gets sent in the mail. The downloadable one was only $99.00 compared to the $299.95 (plus $49.95 for shipping and handling to total at $349.90) hardcopy so you know which one I chose=)
So far I love it! I'm picking it up pretty quickly. If you are looking for a course in how to learn French, take a look at the Rocket French program and see what you think.
